Wooly Mammoth

Here at the Cae Mor, one of the best seafront Llandudno hotels, we know you will have a fantastic holiday with us no matter the weather because there are some many activities to see and do in our Victorian seaside town.

After plenty of hot spells in June and July, August has been a tad wetter and cooler than we would like. We are expecting a warmer September as compensation but when you visit Llandudno, you are assured of a good time, rain or shine, because you are spoilt for choice with great activities. From great theatre shows, restaurants and shopping to fabulous events and festivals, there is always something to do in Llandudno.

One of the most important attractions in Llandudno you should not overlook is our Llandudno Museum. Llandudno is known for its value and importance historically in the region for all the discoveries that have been made of early man, Bronze Age settlements and mining right up to Llandudno’s rich Victorian heritage.

Llandudno Museum is found on Mostyn Street and is home to an impressive collection. It has rooms dedicated to prehistory, the Roman Age, the Medieval Era, the Resort room looks at Llandudno’s transformation from small mining settlement to prominent Victorian seaside resort in the 19th century and the war room is dedicated to the history of both world wars.

If you love history, you will find Llandudno’s Museum a fascinating experience and there are several fantastic special exhibitions taking place right now. Until the 30th September you can discover the history of the Ice Age at Llandudno museum, meet ice age visitors and see some of Wales’ earliest known art works. Another fantastic exhibit is ‘Degrees of Silence’ which is available to view until the 29th September. It gives insight into what life was like in Victorian North West Wales.

Remember, if you are planning a trip to Llandudno to stay with the Cae Mor Hotel, to check out our seasonal offers. Don’t forget two of the biggest events of the year are taking place next month: The Tour of Britain, the UK’s largest professional cycle race will tear through Llandudno on the 8th September and LLAWN 02 (Llandudno Arts Festival) returns for its second year from the 19th-21st September. This micro festival of Llandudno’s history expressed through contemporary art in a variety of mediums throughout the town was a big hit last year and we expect it to be even bigger for 2014.
