Llandudno’s Victorian Extravaganza and Upcoming Theatre Shows

Llandudno Hotels | Events and Festivals Spring is one of the best times to head for a holiday at the Cae Mor Seafront Hotel in Llandudno. This season there are so many great events and shows taking place in the beautiful seaside town that you will never be short of entertainment.

May is one of Llandudno’s most important months and one of the busiest too as the crowds flock in for our largest and most famous festival of the year: The Victorian Extravaganza. You will need to book your rooms at the Cae Mor Llandudno Hotel very soon if you want to stay at a premiere seafront hotel for the Extravaganza as spaces are filling up fast.

Every year Llandudno welcomes thousands of visitors over the first May bank holiday weekend as excited crowds flock to the UK’s biggest Victorian themed festival based right here in Llandudno. The Extravaganza has been taking place since 1986 and celebrates the Victorian era and history of Llandudno as a Victorian seaside resort. Victorian architecture and surviving technology are part of the beauty and appeal of Llandudno and the Victorian Extravaganza is our chance to celebrate everything Victorian in town and our heritage.

If you have never been to the festival before you are missing out on unique and fantastic experience. For those who return year after year you will want to book your accommodation at top Llandudno hotels like the Cae Mor even earlier as every year the festival is growing and more and more new comers surge to the town to see what all the fuss is about.

For 2014 you will not be disappointed as old favourites return and new features come to make the festival bigger and better than ever. Look out for special new elements to the festival this year such as the QR codes based at 40 significance historical spots in the town so you can now use your smart phone to access the Victorian history of our town as you explore it. Another new feature will be our World War 11 Super Marine Spitfire Flyover which will take place on Saturday 3rd May at 2:30pm during the Extravaganza. The display will last for 10 minutes so be sure to look up at the right time. Llandudno guests can also look forward to Anna-Marie Munro at the opening ceremony of the Extravaganza, which takes place at 11am on Saturday 3rd May. Anna-Marie is the daughter of famous entertainer Alex Munro who entertained thousands of Llandudno residents and visitors.

New visitors should check out some of the best acts that come to the Extravaganza every year. The George Formby entertainers, Absolute Magic, Mr Alexander’s Travelling Show and Voltinins Sideshows. The parades, Victorian fancy dress competitions and Victorian trains and machinery displays are also firm favourites every year.

Do not delay because there is not long left until the best Llandudno festival of the year hits our streets.
