On the 14th through to the 16th of October 2016, the Glitch Festival will hit North Wales!
This amazing and completely FREE festival is part of the nationwide Circuit programme, which is led by the Tate Gallery and funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation. This unique programme connects 15-25 year olds to galleries and museums via art, and works in partnership with the youth and cultural sectors within Llandudno by steering them toward what could be their true calling.
Part of a very clever drive to steer young people toward paving their own roads of learning past high school, college and university, this unique and amazing initiative furthermore promotes cultural activity throughout all art disciplines. Be it expressive dance, fashion design, traditional painting or even more modern techniques of the arts, there’s a place for all of the above and so much more at Glitch.
Hitting the town of Llandudno from the 14th to the 16th of October 2016, there will be a plethora of things to do, all under the name of “Three Days of Creative Disobedience” Reminiscent of the amazingly popular LLAWN Festival from the end of September, Glitch will feature interactive exhibitions, real-time art workshops covering a range of mediums, live music from Llandudno’s talented local band scene, some truly iconic film screenings, all the street food you’ll be able to fit in, and to top it all off, a little street bar to keep the chills at bay.
Happening from within and around the prestigious Mostyn Gallery (with an extra special surprise in there for everyone in possession of a skateboard, a set of roller blades, or a BMX!) Glitch looks like it’ll be an amazingly fun time for everyone involved, so why not come to Llandudno this weekend and let your creative side out a little? The weekend promises unusual occurrences for all, so why not make a short trip to our charming little seaside town and come embrace some excellent creative disobedience?
When the festivities come to a close, you’re more than welcome to take a short walk to our charming seafront Bed and Breakfast in Llandudno in order to unwind. We’re very well appropriated, only a short 10 minute walk away from the Mostyn Gallery.
Should you wish to stay, we offer very reasonable rates for a wonderful night’s sleep by the sea – leaving you fresh and ready to take on the next day of this incredible weekend.
